We know that the flush trend is growing in the Northwest, little did we know that it warranted it’s own event. We were a little skeptical heading into Stancewars, the staff has had its fair share of ups and downs leading up to the event, especially with the last minute venue change. Stancewars proved some critics wrong, but still left many in limbo of whether the scene was ready for it’s own flush/stance event. July 3rd was again another near-hit for bad weather, but the little rain it did produce was short and limited to the morning.

One thing is for certain in the Northwest, if you go to an event, any event, you’re bound to see something new. Yogi and David Song from Executive Auto Society might have debuted their Mercedes at Forum Fest taking home Best Euro, but there are things to be said when you roll up in VIP fashion poppin’ sparking grape cider (to Yogi’s credit, he had Champagne, but didn’t want alcohol on display outside the car). The paint on this car is as jet black as they come, very classy, very nice.

Jason Campbell’s Hyundai Genesis Spec-R was in attendance again as well. His car, similar to his previous builds, is very under-rated and underestimated. His flat black coated Skyline R35 GT-R wheels were all purchased one at a time and re-built and matched with tires that give him a near perfect stretch.

While the event had it’s fair portion of stanced out cars, it also had a lot of stock cars with decent wheel/tire setups and a lot of air ride. I think the industry is still trying to define what stance is, or what it means or how to judge it. We personally can’t see air ride equipped cars battling against other cars with finely tuned suspensions, doesn’t seem fair. Just like most trends, we expect the industry to figure it out and adjust accordingly and maybe by that time, the flush scene will level itself off.
