Car shows are increasingly few and far between these days here in the Pacific Northwest, but among the grim outlook shined NOS Energy Drink’s Forum Fest, which took place on Sunday, July 18th. Similar in style to Battle of the Imports, but also adding a drift event, Forum Fest ended up being quite a large event, with the turn-out of cars and spectators reaching proportions not seen in at least a couple years. The main lot was filled with the car show, while spectators could walk over to the drag strip to watch Speed Factory’s 9.04-second Civic hatch and a number of 10-second and 11-second Evos run pass after pass in the quarter-mile. Walking over to the other side, attendees were greeted by the sounds of screeching tires in the drifting area.
Lasting from 9 am to 5 pm, there were plenty of things to see and do. NWMotiv hosted a very popular “NOS Pong” competition, while the NOS Energy Drink organizers held multiple raffle giveaways throughout the day. The festivities came to an end with Project Tuners’ Jamarri Whiteside taking not only the Best Subaru honors, but also the Best in Show trophy. Team Menace continued their success by once again taking home the Best Team Quality trophy. The event seemed to be quite the success and we can only hope that this is a sign that the local automotive enthusiast scene is starting to get back on an upswing.
