It really doesn’t matter what day of the year it is when it comes to hoping for good weather on an event day. It could be the middle of summer or the dead of winter; there is no telling if you’re going to need an umbrella or winter coat. However, one thing that we can rely on year after year is the automotive community here in the Northwest.

Regardless of your affiliation with any certain make, scene or style, everyone in the Northwest comes out big and strong for any type of charity event. Just like the week prior with the NW TOY RUN, the NWMotiv Toy Drive and Winter Meet 2011 at Speedware Motorsports was a huge success for a first year event, collecting over 500 toys and $250 cash for Toys for Tots.
Our gracious hosts at Speedware Motorsports opened up their facilities to the masses, allowing people unfamiliar with their operation peruse the grounds to look over race cars, restorations, standard maintenance operations, and plenty more. NWMotiv resident DJ Michael Beck kept the atmosphere energetic with his eclectic mix of hip hop, electronic and even some rock, while our official food vendor, Dante’s Inferno Dogs, served some of the most amazing sausages and hot dogs ever.

No event is complete or successful without the participation of the local teams, clubs and crews that span across the Northwest region. Familiar names like Team Menace, LowerClassMen, NW-Built, Executive Auto Society, Project One and more donated more than their fair share of the toys!

It was a long, wet and cold day out in Redmond, but knowing that we’re going to make over 500 children happy this Holiday season is enough for us to do it all over again. Expect to see the NWMotiv Toy Drive and Winter Meet 2012 pop up on your calendars next fall!
Thank you to everyone who came out and continues to support our scene!

Awesome! I really enjoyed this event and can’t wait for more.
It was an incredible turn out for being winter. The music was enjoyable and contributed to the atmosphere instead of taking it away or being just background noise. The spectrum of cars was also a welcome change of pace. From dailies to showcases, everyone was invited and that was nice. Keep it up guys!
